How do I access training on PAVTN.net?
In order to access PAVTN.net, you must be registered as a member of the site. Typically, officers are registered by their departments to complete courses on PAVTN.net. If you are not a member of PAVTN.net, but would like to be, please email email@example.com.
If you are a member of PAVTN.net, simply login to the site and access the available online courses by clicking Training.
If would like to enroll a course that is currently not available to you (MIST courses), please visit Enrollment to learn more.
How do I enroll in a MPOETC course?
To help us keep our administrative cost low, we request that chiefs complete the enrollment form (spreadsheet) to enroll officers. MPOETC requires the agency's chief or department head to authorize their annual enrollment in the MIST courses. Therefore, it is necessary for a chief to complete a new spreadsheet every year, even if your department took the MPOETC MIST online in previous years.
To create a membership for an officer in PAVTN.net specific profile information is needed.
- VALID email address (this will be used as login information for PAVTN.net, as well as a line of communication regarding course completion)
- First Name
- Last Name
- MPOETC number
It is recommended that the first name, last name and MPOETC number provided match what is contained in the MPOETC TRS system exactly. PAVTN.net will be unable to transfer grades to the MPOETC system if this data does not match.
- Enter valid email address, first name, last name, title and MPOETC number for each officer you are registering.
- Please place a "Y" in the enroll column.
- Save the spreadsheet in the MS spreadsheet format (do not convert to a PDF)
- Attach the spreadsheet in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or to email@example.com

How do I access my certificate for a course?
After you've completed all sections of a course and passed the exam, you can access your certificate by clicking the certificate button that appears next to the exam.
Have my grades been sent to MPOETC?
In October of 2016 MPOETC moved from the TRS record keeping system to the TACS system. With the update to the TACS system we have updated PAVTN to transfer grades to TACS.
If you are a MPOETC officer, upon completing a MPOETC approved course your grade will automatically be transfered to the TACS system. Grades will be placed in a queue for transfer, so your grade may not instantly appear in TACS. The grade should be updated within 24 hours.
Grades earned in PAVTN during the transition to TACS have been transfered into the TACS system.
Why can I open a module, but not see or hear it playing?
Many PAVTN.net eLearning modules require your computer to have an updated Flash Player. If you open a module and the module frame appears but the space inside is blank, it is possible that you need to update your Flash Player or the browser you are using.

If some modules are playing, but other modules do not, your location's IT and/or firewall settings may be set to block video content. Some modules begin with a video. If you are able to see some modules, but experience this issue with others, please contact your IT support to ask if video content is blocked.
I completed a module, but PAVTN.net is not showing it as complete?
In order to properly save your eLearning records, when you reach the end of a module (the last screen) you must click the X in the circle at the top right corner of the eLearning module frame. Closing modules in this way ensures that your records are saved properly to the system. If an error occurs in saving your record, an error window will display a message that will provide details about the error.
Why didn't I receive an email when used the forgot password?
The Forgot Password function sends an email from our system to the email address that we have on record. The email includes your username and password.
If you complete the Forgot Password action, but do not receive an email the message may have been stopped by a spam filter. We recommend contacting your IT department and asking them to have the following email addresses placed on the email whitelist:
Once these emails have been whitelisted with your IT department you will be able to receive messages from PAVTN.net. You can then use the Forgot Password function again to receive the message.
